Local SEO is particularly important for small and medium-sized businesses that rely on local customers to drive revenue. Social media advertising can play a significant role in SEO by providing opportunities to increase brand awareness, drive website traffic, and improve online authority. Social media platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn offer various advertising options to reach specific target audiences and drive conversions. Additionally, regularly updating your Google My Business listing with relevant information such as business hours and customer reviews can improve local SEO and drive more traffic to your website.

How much companies charge to design a website varies greatly depending on the industry, size of the website and design experience of the company. In our review of the top web design companies, we found companies designing websites for free up to companies charging over $100,000 for a site. Read through reviews on sites, such as Capterra, DesignRush, Clutch and G2, to get an idea of the pros and cons of the service. These reviews can often be far more enlightening than reading a company’s website copy and give tales of real-life experiences. We estimate that it takes about 10 to 14 weeks on average to build a website.

The PC carries a 2560×1600 OLED panel that’s Pantone-certified as accurate. The latter point is huge for those who need to rely on the Zephyrus for content creation. Another big plus is the impressive 240Hz refresh rate that the panel reaches. I found that the overall design of the Zephyrus really made my workflow much easier. I use Google’s Quick Share program a lot to bring in photos and files from my phone or other devices, and this laptop handles those tasks like a champ. The Asus Zephyrus G16, on the other hand, has one of the best keyboards I’ve used in recent history.

Occasionally you’ll have to go deep underground into a creepy lab where your scanner and sword don’t work, turning it into a genuinely spooky survival horror style game. There are also some cool Uncharted like action sequences as well as a good mix of linear and non-linear level design. Here's a more understated gaming logo that includes a great collection of terrific graphics with fully customisable text and colour scheme. Now you can simply browse the available selection of templates and choose the one you'd like to open it and begin customisation. Or you can begin customisation immediately by adding your gaming name to get an idea of how all the templates would look with your gaming name. No, design experience is not required to use the GraphicSprings logo maker.

Placeit's got quite a collection of battle-ready female icons like this one for you to choose from. And the best part is that you can customise them to your taste in a matter of minutes. Use this Warlock ProGamer Logo and unlock virtually unlimited creative options when you customise the template using a wide selection of custom text, fonts, colour palettes, accents, and more. Avoid cluttering your logo with excessive details or complex visuals. Aim for a clean and balanced composition that is easily recognizable and can be reproduced effectively across different platforms and sizes. Before diving into the design process, it's crucial to understand your target audience.

The app lets you control specific hardware parameters depending on your needs. You can access presets for high performance or to save battery life. I found that the GPU mode was helpful as well, allowing me to set the RTX 1070 in my unit to an optimized setting that would kick up the power if an app or game demanded more. I’m quite happy with the port options that Asus equipped the G16 with. I don’t think I’ve personally come across any situation with the laptop that required a different port than one I’ve had access to, which is a big deal. Even as HDMI ports might become nonessential for powering external displays, it’s nice to have the option available if needed.

Don't wait! Create your own logo now!

No matter what a laptop can do and how much power it brings, the consumer base is usually divided when it comes to design style. I’m talking about bright cyan blue #00FFFF and deep red lighting across every key and section of a laptop. Another big improvement that really plays a big role in the ROG Zephyrus G16’s performance is the efficiency. The new Intel Core Ultra series is much more efficient, draining less from your limited amount of energy. This has been a huge pain point for laptops with Intel’s i7 and i9 series. Though they had a decent amount of processing power to back each laptop, they suffered in battery consumption.

Those trees take a while to grow — they’re trees, after all — but pairing a forester’s hut with a logging camp can actually provide a steady (if slow) and renewable supply of timber. This couple bought an abandoned house for $1 5 million: Look inside

real haunted house

In Salem, The House of the Seven Gables is one of the city's oldest homes, built in 1668 and immortalized by Nathaniel Hawthorne's 1851 novel of the same name. Today, anyone can tour the estate either on their own or with a guide. There are also winery tours and places to stay nearby if you're hoping to get a nice, long trip out of it. The house offers both self-guided tours and special overnight visits. Check out the Bell Witch Cave and John Bell Cabin in person — tours of the site in Adams, Tennessee, are available Wednesday through Sunday from May to October — and see if you encounter anything strange yourself.

Culbertson Mansion

Twice called the most haunted house in America, the Whaley House sits quietly on a small street in San Diego. Its placid exterior masks a terrifying history that affects its present state. Eerie occurrences at the site in Burrillville, Rhode Island, include extraterrestrial orbs and lights, the sounds of ghostly children playing, and phantom animals roaming the pet cemetery, among others. Inside the house, Abigail, a friendly ghost of another era, cautions people to leave the basement whenever there's a bad spirit nearby.

Belle Grove Plantation

But Montandon was also the victim of physical crimes following the party, including a robbery, harassment, possibly arson, and more. In the 1860s, William Lemp wanted to live closer to the industrial plant and start a family with his wife Julia, so they built the foreboding home in the historic Benton Park neighborhood right over the cave system (we smell a haunting!). Everything seemed to take a turn for the worse in the new millennium, and William Lemp died by suicide in 1904 after his favorite of five sons, Frederick, died tragically due to complications of tuberculosis. Victoria's Black Swan Inn is a lush, 35-acre home and wedding venue cloaked by 100-year-old oak trees in San Antonio, Texas. While it's a romantic scene ideal for nuptials, it's also allegedly infested by the spirits of those who've lived and died on the property.

It is best known for being the seat of the Cumaean sibyl, or prophetess. In the Aeneid, Aeneas went to see the sibyl before he entered the underworld; a passage to hell is located nearby. Get your fill of paranormal activity with a haunted house near you. Franklin Castle is a private residence, so you can't tour it, but some ghost tours pass by the home to tell its spooky story. You can also catch the house on an episode of Travel Channel's "Ghost Adventures."

Check out the bonus eighth gable and the secret staircase replete with stair-climbing ghosts, the giggling ghost boy in the attic and a woman who peers out the windows, said to be Hawthorne’s cousin Susannah. If so, you will love Boldt Castle on its heart-shaped island in St. Lawrence Seaway’s 1,000 Islands. Underway as a summer home for a millionaire’s wife, the castle’s construction was not yet complete in 1904 when she died of heart failure. The heartbroken Mr. Boldt walked away and the castle was abandoned until its 1977 rescue.

The Villisca Axe Murder House in Villisca, Iowa

In 1725, a resident named Petar Plogojowitz passed away, and in the next eight days, nine deaths occurred. The nine who died had said on their deathbeds that they had been throttled—by Plogojowitz’s corpse. Priests and officials flocked to Kisiljevo to investigate, and roughly 40 days after Plogojowitz had expired, they exhumed his grave.

The home has 10,000 windows and 2,000 doors, reportedly intended to confuse the evil spirits lurking in the home. Several tours are available, including a virtual tour you can take from home. Guests of Belle Grove Plantation report they have seen apparitions of Union soldiers and interacted with the spirit of a playful young boy named Jacob. Now operating as a bed and breakfast, Belle Grove hosts weekly ghost hunting tours and paranormal events throughout the year, capped by a two-night bash scheduled for Halloween weekend.

Woodchester Mansion, England

The full story of the Harlow-Bern House is featured in an episode of House Beautiful’s haunted house podcast, Dark House. Much like the rest of the city, the home was supposedly built right on top of unmarked graves. Rumors about the crime and ensuing ghost stories continue to swirl to this day. The full story of the Mercer-Williams House is featured in an episode of House Beautiful’s haunted house podcast, Dark House. From eerier laughter and faint music seemingly coming from within the apartment on repeat, to constant rushes of cold winds despite locked doors and windows, and strange disembodied footsteps, the paranormal events were stacking up quickly.

The house was sold and made into a boarding house that year, although reports quickly surfaced of burning sensations and slamming doors. Today, the mansion is a restaurant and inn, and even hosts a Murder Mystery Dinner. In 1852, James “Yankee Jim” Robinson was hanged for grand larceny. A few years later, Thomas and Anna Whaley built a house on the spot of Robinson’s death. Today, Mr. and Mrs. Whaley, a young girl and the family dog have also been known to show up at the home in ghost form. George Washington Vanderbilt II built this stately Asheville vacation home in the 1800s.

From the house where the Black Dahlia murders took place, to the house Hudson B. Gillis loved so much he never wanted to leave, all of them will leave you questioning “reality”. Former residents have all had one thing to say about this house – it’s haunted. While living with her adoptive mother, Christina Crawford reported that even their house was nothing less than spooky. Homes where residents, visitors and people who are just passing-by, report insane paranormal and psychic phenomena. San Jose Research LibrarySarah Winchester built a house to allegedly appease people killed by her husband’s rifles. Several ghosts supposedly haunt the bridge, including possibly a worker who fell into the concrete during construction.

Fast forward to 1989, about 25 years after the Ackleys moved into 1 LaVeta Place and 15 years after the article was printed, solidifying its haunted reputation, and Helen was ready to downsize. So, she decided to list the house with Richard Ellis of Ellis Realty. The home was listed at just under $800,000, and Helen was thrilled when a young couple, Jeffrey and Patricia Stambovsky, were eager to get the contract underway.

29 Real-Life Haunted House Stories That Keep Us Up at Night

real haunted house

In the middle of the 18th century, while trying to run away after stealing gold from Tiburcio Vasquez (commonly referred to as the Mexican Robin Hood),  two robbers were caught and killed. The Castro House in Sonoma city once belonged to a government official and his family. Recent visitors have discovered various creepy dolls strewn about the area. A feeling of doom and lurking presence, voices and other paranormal activities have all been reported. Thus, along with thirty nine followers of Heaven’s Gate (who called themselves the “away team”), he committed the largest mass-suicide recorded on US soil at a mansion he had purchased in Rancho Santa Fe, California. The John Sowden house was presumed to be the site where the prime suspect, Dr. George Hill Hodel had supposedly killed her before fleeing the country.

Amityville Horror House: Amityville, New York

Rumored to be on top of a burial ground is the Myrtles Plantation in Louisiana, which is the home to at least 12 different ghosts. Built in 1796, ghost stories center around the tale of an enslaved woman named Chloe, who had her ear chopped off after she was reportedly caught eavesdropping. Seeking revenge, Chloe killed two of the master’s daughters by poisoning a birthday cake. She was then hanged by her fellow enslaved people, and today is reportedly seen wandering the plantation with a turban on to conceal her ear. This Dutch colonial sitting pretty on Ocean Avenue in Long Island, New York is perhaps the country's (and world's) most famous real haunted house, though whether or not it was all a hoax is up for debate. But haunted or not, the Amityville home has certainly witnessed plenty of horrors.

LaVeta Place and the Ackley Family Lore

Another tour includes an intro to ghost hunting, with a focus on the technology that's used to communicate with spirits. Back in 1912, this home in the small Iowa town of Villisca suffered a heinous crime that left an entire family, including four children and their two young friends, murdered by an ax. No one was ever charged with the crime, but 100 years later, ghosts lurk in the house, crying out for justice. You can book a day tour, or even stay overnight, waiting for the screams of the victims. And, check out these 50 abandoned houses that would look great restored. This remote village is home to less than 800 inhabitants—and one spooky vampire story.

According to an article by ABC News, the house has "10,000 windows, 2,000 doors, 47 fireplaces, 40 staircases, 13 bathrooms, and nine kitchens." Paranormal investigators say that homes hold on to the accumulated energy of everyone who has previously lived there or that tragedy and sadness can cause a spirit to linger, hoping to correct the pains of the past before they move on. If you want to investigate things for yourself, you can stay at the plantation for $175/night. You can read her full account here, as well as commenters who also lived there and corroborate these claims. I'll definitely not be requesting an in-person viewing for this place—private balcony or not—if this address ever pops back up in my StreetEasy feed. Located across from one of Savannah, Georgia's, most famous and pristine squares (Monterey Square in the city's historic district), the Mercer-Williams house dates back to 1860.

The hotel, which opened as the Community Hotel in 1927—named after the townspeople who helped raised the funds for its construction—has a history of underground opium dens, speakeasies, and gambling. Today, the hotel is known for the paranormal activity that haunts some of the rooms and halls. Certainly one of Ohio’s most haunted places, the Franklin Castle may also be one of the most haunted houses in America. Though visitors can only see it from the street, you may still catch a glimpse of Louise Tiedemann from the window. In 1881, German immigrant Hannes Tiedemann built Franklin Castle in Cleveland for himself and his family.

# The Castro House, Sonoma

Another spirit, Mathew, seems just as interested in today's guests and their strange new technology as they are in him (he died in 1888). This imposing Victorian home is considered to be the most haunted house in Ohio, and it's easy to see why — it was, after all, built in the 1800s by Hannes Tiedemann, who was known around Cleveland for being cruel and abusive. When a string of mysterious deaths in Tiedemann's family happened in the house, those rumors crystallized. The small Iowa town of Villisca (population of around 1,118) doesn't have much to offer tourists — except for a night of terror at the Villisca Ax Murder House. Back in 1912, the white wooden house was the site of a horrifying crime that left an entire family, including four children and their two young friends, dead by an ax-wielding murderer.

Docents have watched the ghost of an enslaved man walk across the room and tend a long-boarded-up fireplace. Another paranormal presence is Grace Sherwood, accused of witchcraft in the 1700s and found guilty by 'ducking' (a process in which she was bound and dropped in deep water; drowning would mean she was innocent). Thankfully, after seven years in prison, she was released, and in 2006 she was officially exonerated. In the tapestry of American folklore, certain homes have become famous for the tales of the restless spirits within their walls, and each has a spine-chilling story to tell.

Winchester Mystery House

He and his family thrived on the farm until they started to see strange looking animals around the property, most notably a dog with a rabbit's head. The home is open for in-person tours, and anyone who can't make the journey can try one of its equally spooky virtual tour options via "Ghostflix." Back in 1892, Andrew and Abby Borden were found dead — killed by an ax-wielding psychopath. Though she stood trial for the crimes and was ultimately acquitted, Lizzie spent the rest of her life under the shadow of guilt. As depicted in The Conjuring, the Perron family moved to the house in 1971 and immediately began experiencing strange things.

A few weeks after Lam went missing, her body was discovered in the rooftop water tank after visitors and tenants complained about a funky taste. They later found odd footage of her in the elevator from the night of her disappearance. It's difficult to make out what she's doing; it looks like she's either playing hide-and-seek with someone outside the elevator, or she's frightened and attempting to hide from someone but the doors won't seem to shut. Authorities ruled the death accidental drowning—but because you need a key to access the roof, many suspect foul play. At some point in the '30s, one man was pinned to the exterior wall by a truck.

Hampton is said to haunt the upstairs lounge while Austin covers the lobby. Some say a ghostly face appears in the cellar over the sink where bloody clothing may have been washed right after the 1892 hatchet murders of Andrew and Abby Borden. Andrew's daughter, Lizzie, who was acquitted at the trial of the century, perhaps by the jury's error. She, Andrew and her stepmother Abby are said to linger in the house, along with children who roll marbles on the attic floor, victims of a drowning by their mother in the basement well next door. Aim for the anniversary reenactments every August if you’re dying to see the Lizzie Borden House. In 1885, construction was completed on Staten Island’s Kreischer Mansion.

King Louis XI’s half sister Charlotte de Valois was married to Jacques de Brézé, who learned from a servant one night that his wife was in bed with another man upstairs. De Brézé ran upstairs and killed both lovers with a sword, choosing to wear green (his late wife’s favorite color) to the funeral instead of black. Since then, visitors have reported catching sight of a “Green Lady” haunting the halls in her signature color. According to local lore, Annie Palmer, the wife of plantation owner John Palmer, had a dark streak beyond the black magic she practiced. In the 1800s, she murdered John, her second and third husbands, and numerous male slaves whom she’d taken as lovers.

The Silent Movie Theatre is said to be haunted by the ghosts of its first two owners. John Hampton opened the theater in 1942 and dedicated his life to preserving silent films… using toxic chemicals that eventually gave him cancer. Lawrence Austin reopened the theater after Hampton’s death in the early nineties; in 1997, he was fatally shot in the lobby in a plot concocted by his lover/projectionist.

Listen to this week's episode of our haunted house podcast series, Dark House, for exclusive ghost stories and insights into the home's haunted reputation. This house is the site of a grim murder where in 1974 a son killed his parents and four siblings by gun. The next tenants, the Lutz Family, stayed 28 days before fleeing. These events—including the chilling utterance of the words ‘get out’—were immortalized in the book and movie franchise, The Amityville Horror.

Over the last decade, voters have approved Proposition HHH to build homeless housing, Measure H to deliver homeless services and Measure ULA to keep people from slipping into homelessness. “If there ends up being distress for multi-family [buildings], it’s a way to keep as much housing as they can,” he said. LA4LA is already partnering with the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles, a state-chartered agency that administers the city’s public housing developments, to provide loans to buy buildings. A-listers in designer gowns and million-dollar jewels parade down the red carpet, blocks from tents where people live in unsanitary conditions. Private jets take off at Van Nuys Airport, soaring over streets lined with RVs and crowded apartment complexes.

A woman murdered her newborn in the building in 1944, and the pattern of suicides continued into the '60s. In 1962, a woman jumped from the ninth floor window and landed on a pedestrian, killing them both. It's worth noting that two of the women who died by suicide apparently jumped while their husbands were asleep in the room. Because there's so little information about who lived here and when, and because abandoned places tend to ignite the dark side of the imagination, there are tons of legends around alleged atrocities occurring (and consequent hauntings).

"This is definitely the exact kind of house where you would dream," Gambino said in an interview with USA TODAY. "It's a very special house where people immediately get, you know, emotionally connected when they're there." Designed by LA architect William King and built in 1982, the listing comes with several gathering spaces in and around the home, with charming gardens, a wraparound deck and a garage that could be used as studio space. An estimate for the unfinished building came in at $850 million, she said, and it would probably have to be torn down.

House of Prime Rib Restaurants in Nob Hill, San Francisco

house of prime rib san francisco

Our juicy and delicious Prime Rib is made from the highest quality corn-fed beef available. The tubs of salted meat are then sent into the oven (Betz would only say the temperature was “medium” not wanting to give away all the restaurant’s secrets), where they sit for about two and a half hours. After a drink at the bar, Arrington, Rivera, and Betz pull the meat out, let it sit for a couple of hours, and break open the salt with a wooden paddle.

The Best SF Restaurants For A Birthday Dinner

The iconic House of Prime Rib serves potentially the highest quality corn-fed beef in the Bay Area. Their meticulously prepared meat is aged for 21 days, making it especially tender, juicy and flavorful. Diners enjoy well-marbled prime rib, carved tableside to their exact specifications, along with sides like fluffy mashed potatoes and creamed spinach.

You’ll see everyone from families celebrating birthdays to tourists looking to eat like a British monarch for a night. It’s controlled chaos, but in the best possible way. HOPR is the sort of over-the-top calorie splurge you tend to have once a year, and I—like Keanu—especially love this restaurant during the holiday season.

“You don’t want to see any meat,” he tells Arrington as she pours heaps of salt upon the ribs. More prime rib, but cut into thinner, more manageable slabs. The thinner pieces are easier to take down and somehow make the prime rib taste meatier. Once the prime rib is ready to go, the fat is trimmed and the meat is sent out to the cart, where three ribs stand upright as they roam around the restaurant. “It’s a really amazing idea for the concept, because you take one thing, right? And you focus all the energy and the intention and you do it well and then you build around it,” Arrington says.

True beef aficionados are well aware of San Francisco’s House of Prime Rib, which has been around since 1949. Their dinner menu is remarkably sparse, offering only different slices of prime rib as opposed to a broad selection of offers. The one exception is the fish offering, which contains a portion of fish from the catch of the day, also distinguished by being the only thing on the menu that’s always changing. Down in San Francisco, there’s a unique establishment for the area, a restaurant that’s focused on just one thing. Delivering delicious, savory, juicy slabs of prime rib to its customers.

The dessert cart offers a decadent array of sinful sweets, and assorted wines promise the perfect pairing. You know what you’re here to eat, but when you open the menu, it’s still a bit shocking how few choices you have. There are six entrees to pick from, five of which are different cuts of prime rib and a sixth option of fish, and sides like Yorkshire pudding, baked potatoes, and creamed spinach. You choose how much prime rib you want, how you’d like it cooked, and how thick you want it cut. The scene is gloriously fun to watch, but the food itself is also a big reason why every room in this palace is always packed. It’s meat and potatoes, plain and simple, but done in a way that’s difficult to top.

The Academy struggles every time the creamed spinach comes up for an award - it is technically a supporting actor, but it’s a star in its own right. A somehow more massive slab of prime rib.
